Miss England launches search for Ear of the Year 2007

Blonde beauty Georgia Horsley has lent her support to our Ear of the Year awards.
Miss England

Miss England, who is profoundly deaf in her right ear, hit Leicester Square with our squad of 1940s style Ear Snappers to launch Ear of the Year 2007.

Georgia said: "I’m deaf in one ear but that doesn’t stop me putting on the glitz and living life to the full. Ear of the Year is about getting everyone to value their ears and seek help to ensure they hear the best they can. So, if you think your friends, family or loved-ones have the UK’s cutest, wackiest or most ear-resistible ears, then show us!”

Lisa McDonald, Senior Campaigns Officer, said: "The awards are a fun way of getting people to think about their hearing, but there is a serious issue behind the fun. 41% of people believe those with a hearing loss cover it up or fail to seek help because they are embarrassed. By calling our hearing check on 0845 600 5555 anyone can take that first, important step towards looking after their hearing health'.

Ear of the Year 2007 entries have now closed.
